A couple day's go we made a three hour car ride from Hue to Hoi An. While Hue was nice, once you had seen the tombs, pagoda's, and the Citidel, there was not really anything else to see or do. We decided to move on down to Hoi an. Many people talk about Hoi An's Beauty and shopping and the have every reason to. The city is on the mouth of a river and used to be a major trading port back in the 1700s and 1800s. The City was not bombed during the war so there are several old buildings still in tact.

Today Hoi an contains an old section of town where no cars are allowed, a thriving market, and a number of beach resorts.

Our last full day in Mui ne was lots of fun. In the morning Savannah and I went on a tour that included some sand dunes (we went sledding on them), a red sand canyon, and a fishing village. We sweat alot on the tour as it was hot as hell, so in the afternoon we spent our time at the resort catching rays on the beach and in the pool. The beach was alot more dirty than the first day. There was a bunch of garbage i8n the water and it seemed that no one was picking it up. I guess it happens, and thats what we get for being there in the off season.

I'm going to try and write more now... Where did I leave off... Somewhere in HCMC. On Tuesday (? I'm loosing track of days... Vacation Brain!) we took a car (w\ driver) from HCMC to just outside of Phan Thiet and Mui ne. It seems to be the off season for this little resort town that seems to cater to Russians, Vietnamese and Europeans. When we got here yesterday the place was deserted. There seems to only be two other guests in our Resort. And for about $40USD poer night the place is a steal. We have a room on the seond floor of a little quadraplex on the ocean. Our room looks over the ocean and the beach. It's very amaizing. The beach was deserted when we got here like some sort of vacation brochureware. It was/is amaizing.

Hey all,

We have all arrived in Vietnam OK. We flew out of Vancouver on Firday and arrived out side of Tai Pei on Saterday afternoon. It was a long flight. We Were put up in a country club that was well outside of Tai Pei, so we did not get in to see the City, but the Jack Nickolus designed gold Course looked nice. They even had it lit for night golf. It was nice to get a good sleep there though. We woke up early and caught a great 4 hour flight down to Ho Chi Min City (HCMC or Sai gon). The City here is great. It definatetly takes some getting used to. Scooters rule the road and pretty much everywhere else. There is no real traffic control, everyone just drives, so it becomes a sort of water like flow. It makes crossing the street interesting. Sunday we went to the War remnence museum (previously the Cinese and American War crimes Museum), and we walked around the city and took it in a bit. Yesterday we did some shopping and some more wandering around. We decided that we wanted to get into the thick of it a bit more so we went to the 5th distict otherwise known as China Town. That was heavy. There were scoters and people Everywhere. It was utter caos. We were dropped off by a closed Pagodda... we did a trip around the block on foot and then it all got to be a little too much. It was very crazy, and ruch hour to boot.

Anyway, I just realized I have to pay for this. Till later.

Sorry to anyone who actually visits my sites. They have been down for about two months now as my host went out of business. I have all three of my domains now back up or at least pointing at a website of sorts. I also have my email back so thats all good news :)

I'm going to try and write some things on the sites and get some content, tutorials and everything else going. Please feel free if you read any of my articles to leave a comment. And ask questions. I like answering questions, except maybe ones about my personal life.

Cheers

Dave
